The Loon is our performance kayak.  This boat is recommended for intermediate or experienced paddlers.

This boat is a multi-chine kayak in a modified Eastern Canada style, similar to boats from the Labrador/Baffin Island region.  In form, it resembles its namesake, with a long narrow bow and a low wide stern.  The cockpit is somewhat aft of center.  The bottom has a shallow "V" with slight rocker.  This is a medium volume boat well suited to day trips as well as long weekend excursions.

The Loon has good initial and secondary stability.  It is very responsive to turns, yet has excellent tracking.  The low profile makes handling in cross winds easy.

We, at Squeedunk Kayaks, are very exited about this boat,  You will not find a design like this available anywhere else on the market.

Key Features

Hull constructed of 4mm BS 1088 Okoume marine plywood, impregnated with marine grade epoxy and sheathed with 6 oz. fiberglass cloth on the exterior.  The interior is reinforced with 9 oz. fiberglass tape.
Deck constructed of cambered 3mm BS1088 Okoume marine plywood, impregnated with marine grade epoxy and sheathed with 4 oz. fiberglass cloth on the interior for added strength and stiffness.
Hulls painted with marine grade polyurethane enamel in your choice of color (varnished hull optional at no additional cost).  Decks finished with marine varnish to accent the warm glow of the natural wood.
Fully rigged deck including shock-cord, full deck perimeter line, and custom carrying toggles.
All deck hardware is recessed to minimize spray from waves.
Fore and aft structural bulkheads.  Front and rear  flush hatches give water-tight access to roomy cargo space.
Yakima adjustable footbraces, standard.
Length is 18' 2" with a maximum beam of 23".  At 250# displacement, the waterline length is 16' 3" and the waterline beam 20".
